Mizu's Book & Film Club
Join us once a month for engaging discussions and educational deep dives into both books and films, with a focus on honing your analytical skills in both mediums.
Meeting Details
Our meetings take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Here's how it works:
First Hour: We'll dedicate this time to discussing the “Book of the Month”, exploring themes, characters, and literary techniques.
Second Hour: We’ll shift gears to analyze the “Film or TV show of the Month”, breaking down cinematic storytelling, and directorial choices.
4:00-4:55 PM CST - Book Discussion
4:55-5:00 PM CST - Break
5:00-6:00 PM CST - Film Discussion
You're welcome to join for just the book discussion, the film analysis, or stay for both hours—whatever suits your interest and schedule.

Our Book Curriculum

Our Film & Television Picks
We're exploring a diverse selection of popular stories that share common threads - character development, exceptional storytelling, and a deep understanding of filmmakers on what captivates audiences.
Some films use innovative strategies to draw audiences in, such as non-linear storytelling (Inception), symbolism (Get Out), and unexpected genre-twisting (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
Meanwhile, others focus on humanity and building identities within characters
(The Queen's Gambit, Parasite).
